Testing for Oz

Setting off very soon for an extended visit to the Antipodes and I have one final (I hope) bit of IT to make sure of. I'm travelling with my iPad and it has been harder than anticipated to get it set up and functioning as I am accustomed to on my laptop. I just thought the iPad would be so much lighter and smaller to carry round when necessary, but OMG what complications! Apple's paranoia makes life difficult for anyone who steps outside the iPhone iPod iPad framework so I can't get pictures from my Blackberry, for example, onto the iPad for love nor money. Fortunately it doesn't hate Olympus quite as much as Blackberry so I have to take my camera and a connection kit (£25!). Anyway, enough wingeing. Just explaining this non-news blog which is simply to verify that I will be able to blog whilst away.
So keep an eye on me for occasional updates over the next 6 weeks.

OK. So I just tried to upload a photo and failed. Looks like I might have to blog text only. I'll keep trying to find a way round it. God bless Apple!
